Cry to the Gurus

Wonderful
great bodhisattvas
of infinite wisdom
you with
immense muscular
strength whose lungs
can hold a single breath
for endless cycles
of samsaric suffering
and whose every
action exhibits
exquisite skill
and creativity
acquired through
dedicated practice
over many virtuous past lives
yes you who hate to sit
in idleness while those who
cry out to you for guidance
continue to fall into sin
and break their vows ...

Think of me
in this very instant
and bless me
continuously
in every conceivable situation
with your reassuring presence
in my heart
and promise you will
never leave me
and promise always
to be there

Give me your strength
and support
and a sense of purpose
when I feel I can't go on
encourage me
to try again

And let me always
be inspired
by your shining example
by the solemn noble vow
you made to serve
all beings
in all times
till each and every
one of them
comes to know you
as their friend
and attains enlightenment
